How do you balance work and home life?

How do I balance work and home life? I have a schedule I try to stick to, but some day I just make things up as I go along. It’s a delicate balancing act between what is priority and what can wait. I homeschool two children in the mornings with a toddler tagging along. I work in the evenings. When I get home I am forced to choose between unwinding and losing sleep or going straight to bed to have an early start the next day.
When I am at home I am busy planning, teaching or cleaning. When I am at work I am focused on mentally planning and doing my job. To add to the craziness I make sure I fit God’s word into my lifestyle daily. It’s always a high speed juggling act but I love my little circus.

How do I balance work and home life? Simple. I don’t — I retired.
That’s the secret sauce no one tells you. While the rest of the world is juggling Zoom calls with burnt toast and pretending their toddler isn’t painting the dog, I’ve unlocked the ultimate work-life balance: no work.
People of my age shouldn’t be “balancing” anything except maybe a glass of wine on a sun lounger. I’m out here exploring things I used to only daydream about during soul-draining meetings — like learning Italian, hiking scenic trails, and spending entire afternoons deciding which café has the best scones (it’s research, really).
So to everyone still chasing productivity hacks: I highly recommend retirement. Ten out of ten. No balance needed when the seesaw only goes one way — towards joy, naps, and zero emails.
