What does freedom mean to you?

What does freedom mean to me? That question requires all depends on the subject at hand. In my country I have freedom of religion, press, speech, and assembly. I have a sense of sovereignty that some people cannot obtain. However, I also have many laws and statues I must obey by or face consequences. In that sense I am free but only to an extent.
I have the freedom to learn anything I choose on any topic I could think of. That is a luxury not everyone has. As well as access to clean water and food. The roads I drive on are decent compared to most. I am blessed to have the means to homeschool my children and not have to pay for child care. My career in itself is a gift from God although it also binds me.
The most important freedom of all is the liberty I have in Jesus Christ and my heavenly Father. I have the security in knowing that the war has already been won. I know that my Father will never leave me, nor forsake me. He will always lead, guide direct and protect me. I have freedom and peace to know that His plan will prevail and I have no need to worry. This is by far the most precious and important freedom.
Freedom depends on the perspective of the current lens. What one considered liberating another may view as a restraint. Regardless of my current point of view of worldly things, I know that ultimately my freedom reigns superior in my faith. By grace through faith I am saved and always find an everlasting freedom. This is what freedom means to me, a multi layered idea that guides my life.
