The Mighty Toe

Silence echoes through the walls.
No pitter patter through the halls.

A blanket of darkness hinders my eyes.
But this is a path I’ve walked a thousand times.

One step, two step, three step, four.
One step more and I’ll be at the door.

Instead of open space like I know,
my mighty toe finds a Lego.

I jump and hop to make the paint stop.
I yell and scream profanities.

Booby traps all over the floor.
I don’t want this anymore.

My throbbing toe now swollen and red
as I limp to bed.

I would like to meet the inverter one day
I know just what I will say.

Children may find your toy exciting and fun but it makes the adults come undone.
The tiniest block comes with a shock
Indeed they are harder than a rock.
Every parent who has bought it as a toy
has at one point wanted to destroy.
