Christianity

The term Christian is used often today.
The term I am almost hesitant to say.

Most that wear the title
but lack a depth that is a vital
key that this flesh body
desperately needs.

The claim to know The Father, yet don’t know His sacred name.
Oh what a shame!

Some stand at a pulpit and speak in His name.
Then invite Santa Clause and the Easter bunny to lead the children’s games.
Oh what a shame!

Some stand on a world stage and bask in the fame.
Lights, camera, action, while capitalizing their gains.
Oh what a shame!

Some offer miracles like healing the sick and lame.
But only if the price had been paid,
can God allow this gain.
Oh what a shame!

Some set on a pew week for week,
claiming they know The Father and actively seek.

But how often do those that claim to be meek,
actually pick up the Scripture where God Himself they can meet.

The truth is, Christianity has become a saying used to such a degree
that most of the meanings have become incomplete.

I shall find a different term to label me. I am a follower of Jesus Christ and a daughter of The One True King. That sounds more accurate to me than Christianity.

  1. I’ve always been curious about Christianity. I’ve been to church many times and celebrated all the festivals, especially Christmas. Yes, it’s celebrated with great fanfare here. I’ve also read the Bible, which says there’s only one Supreme Father. Jesus. There are many churches in India. Yes, it’s a pleasure to go there and listen to prayers. The message of nonviolence and humanity that Jesus gave to the world is the greatest.I am a Hindu, where there are many gods and goddesses, but Christianity worships only one God. The review would be too long. Yes, I really enjoyed your article today. I will save it forever. Thank you very much. 💐

    1. Maybe there is purpose behind your curiosity with Christianity. It is a pleasure to have you as a regular visitor to my website. I agree the message of nonviolence and humanity that Jesus gave the world is one of the best. Although, my top favorite His salvation that He promises anyone who will accept Him. America makes God out to be a God of hell fire and brim stone. They focus heavily on condemnation, but leave out his compassion, understanding and forgiveness. I have been to many church, of many different denomination and most do not teach the Word of God. They will pick a few verses then talk about it for an hour. I am pleased to know you liked my poem and that you saved it! I have read a little bit into Hinduism. Other religions have always fascinated me, though my knowledge is very little. Thank you for sharing your experience!
