A Piece of My Childhood

Describe an item you were incredibly attached to as a youth. What became of it?

When I was a little girl I had a an adorable puppy dog key chain. It had light brown fuzzy ears, and a white face. Its top half was full of plush cotton with it bottom half filled with beads.  I took it everywhere with me. To school, on family trips, to the grocery store. It was one of many things I held dear as a child. Surprisingly, I still have this one and everyone of my children have played with it. How incredible!

Slightly older, missing an eye, and in desperate need of a bath. But the memories it carries now is worth its weight in gold. For now, it sets on a shelf, silently waiting for the next gentle play. I wonder how many more memories it will come to preserve. Mementos are special time capsules that transport us to a time that once was, and just for a moment, can be again.
