Romans 10 1 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)
7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)

19 But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.
20 But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.
21 But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.
I would love to say I volunteer at my local animal shelter. Or often read to the seniors at the senior center. It would be awesome if I could say I own a high clean up or community service job, but I don’t. In reality I don’t do much for my community other than shopping at local small shops and donating unwanted items. I homeschool in the morning and work in the evenings, I usually don’t have time to work in the community as my hands are full already daily.
Caroline rode away, traveling the opposite directions anyone would expect her to go. Soon she was at the edge of the forest, a place she hadn’t seen for nearly 15 years. The path now looked overgrown and nearly unrecognizable. Despite the overgrowth a familiar awareness directed her to her destination. Only a handful of people knew about this place. Emma once called it “our little slice of peace” and the code name seemed to stick. The mystical waterfall appeared to rise out of nowhere. Tucked far back into the woods, well off the beaten path. If a passerby did hear the sound of falling water, most never ventured far enough into the forest to find it. The mouth a few miles down the mountain provided an easier and more convenient access. The waterfall’s remote location provided an excellent escape and sense of privacy.
The forest thickened around her as she ventured deeper into the forest. Sadie’s footsteps became slower now bulldozing through dense weeds. At last the forest canopy opened up revealing a magnificent waterfall. The cliff towered above her some 50 feet with an oblong pool stretched below it. A little piece of oasis. Everything looked the same as it did a decade ago. She dropped down from Sadie’s back, tethering the reins to a low branch. She slipped off her gown, leaving it as a heap on the ground. Wearing her under garments she waded into the water allowing herself a rare moment of tranquillity. She floated on her back, and closed her eyes, and was transported to another time. A time when she was a little girl without a care in the world. A small child without a husband or much thought for her future. A time when her beloved sister was still here. After a long moment of fantasizing she rights herself, now clear headed and grounded.
She then ducked behind the waterfall, always her favorite spot to be. The cliff behind curved far back, allowing plenty of room to get out of the water and sit comfortably.The years of constant erosion had only widened the secret cave, adding to its beauty and wonder. Not even her husband had been to this spot. She would assume not Johnathan either.
Caroline forced her mind to ignore the nostalgia and focus on the problem at hand. What could be this secret? How does she find out the knowledge that ended her sister’s life? Does she really want to know if it will put her life in danger as well? So many questions and not enough answers. She recalled a lady who Emma used to visit often. She lived deep in the forest and typically avoided people, but Emma had taken a liking to her. They would often spend evenings gardening and gossiping together. Mrs. Rashell had a vast knowledge of herbs and spices, a subject Emma was eager to learn. Maybe Emma had mentioned something to her. Without any other reasonable option, visiting Mrs. Rashell was her next step.
Just as she was standing to leave an abnormality caught her eye. A line too perfect for nature, not just one, four. She pried with her fingers on the rectangle, sliding the rock out into her hand. The hollowed out piece contained a stack of handwritten letters wrapped neatly with a silk ribbon.
The first one read:
Caroline stared at the note in disbelief. How could this possibly be true? But how could she ignore the obvious warnings? Her heart sanks lower as she scanned the rest of the letters that solidified what she feared. Each one described in detail the strategies of Johnathan and Damion’s plan to conquer the Kingdom of Asturias, each one sealed with her father’s royal signet.
What was she supposed to do with this information? How can she warn her beloved friends? Did her husband also support this heinous invasion? What about mother, could she be trusted? A thousand questions flooded her mind creating anxiety within. For a moment it hijacked her body and froze her in place. She had to make a decision fast. The wrong one could mean her life or many others would soon come to an end.Caroline mounted her horse and set off to find Rashell. She only had a little while before someone would become alarmed by her absence. Hopefully Rashell can lend a helping hand and give some wisdom or direction.
The small house still looked as lovely as ever. A white picket fence circled the house with roses growing all around. A well manicured lawn surrounded the house making it look picturesque against the forest backdrop. Caroline dismounted and knocked on the door, but no one came. She knocked harder hoping the loss of hearing due to old age was the reason for not answering. Nothing… She pondered her next move. Should she wait for her to return? Should she risk a trip to the docks to board a boat and warn King Amaryllis herself. Should she trust her mother or husband? What to do, what to do. Suddenly she yearned for yesterday morning, when everything seemed simpler and less like a life-altering series of events. She no longer wanted to be responsible for anything. She wanted to be that little girl again without a care in the world. But that wasn’t an option that was attainable. She had to take action, but even inaction was an action.

Exodus 22:9
9 For all manner of trespass, whether it be for ox, for ass, for sheep, for raiment, or for any manner of lost thing, which another challengeth to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before the judges; and whom the judges shall condemn, he shall pay double unto his neighbour.
10 If a man deliver unto his neighbour an ass, or an ox, or a sheep, or any beast, to keep; and it die, or be hurt, or driven away, no man seeing it:
11 Then shall an oath of the LORD be between them both, that he hath not put his hand unto his neighbour’s goods; and the owner of it shall accept thereof, and he shall not make it good.
12 And if it be stolen from him, he shall make restitution unto the owner thereof.
13 If it be torn in pieces, then let him bring it for witness, and he shall not make good that which was torn.
14 And if a man borrow ought of his neighbour, and it be hurt, or die, the owner thereof being not with it, he shall surely make it good.
15 But if the owner thereof be with it, he shall not make it good: if it be an hired thing, it came for his hire.
16 And if a man entice a maid that is not betrothed, and lie with her, he shall surely endow her to be his wife.
17 If her father utterly refuse to give her unto him, he shall pay money according to the dowry of virgins.
18 Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.
19 Whosoever lieth with a beast shall surely be put to death.
20 He that sacrificeth unto any god, save unto the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed.

Exodus 23 1 Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.
2 Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment:
3 Neither shalt thou countenance a poor man in his cause.
4 If thou meet thine enemy’s ox or his ass going astray, thou shalt surely bring it back to him again.
5 If thou see the ass of him that hateth thee lying under his burden, and wouldest forbear to help him, thou shalt surely help with him.

16 And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labours, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field.
17 Three times in the year all thy males shall appear before the Lord GOD.
18 Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread; neither shall the fat of my sacrifice remain until the morning.
19 The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring into the house of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother’s milk.
20 Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.
21 Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him.

23 For mine Angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites: and I will cut them off.
24 Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images.
25 And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.
26 There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil.
27 I will send my fear before thee, and will destroy all the people to whom thou shalt come, and I will make all thine enemies turn their backs unto thee.
28 And I will send hornets before thee, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite, from before thee.
29 I will not drive them out from before thee in one year; lest the land become desolate, and the beast of the field multiply against thee.

Exodus 24 1 And he said unto Moses, Come up unto the LORD, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship ye afar off.
2 And Moses alone shall come near the LORD: but they shall not come nigh; neither shall the people go up with him.

What’s a job you would like to do for just one day?
What is a job would I like to do for just one day? I have far too many to write about just one. I would enjoy working in a factory that handles molten metal but most definitely only a short while. I do not prefer very warm climates. I would also find it fascinating to be the people who collect lava samples. I would love to be a pilot or a captain of a ship. I would like to try a hand at underwater welding or see if I like washing sky scraper’s windows. A morgue would be fascinating to work in once or twice but I wouldn’t want to make it a way of life. So many choices and so little time. I guess if I had to just choose one I would say, I would want to work alongside the elite of elite. Those few and far between that run this country from the shadows. The ones who hide secret knowledge and dictate what I am to know. This is the one job I would like to do for a day. Then I could put a face to the wicked and deceitful happenings of this nation. I could let people know all the information that is hidden and distorted. Another time another place I suppose. Exodus 21 1 Now these are the judgments which thou shalt set before them.
2 If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing.
3 If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he were married, then his wife shall go out with him.
4 If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master’s, and he shall go out by himself.
5 And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free:
6 Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever.
7 And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do.
8 If she please not her master, who hath betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her.
9 And if he have betrothed her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters.
10 If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish.
11 And if he do not these three unto her, then shall she go out free without money.

13 And if a man lie not in wait, but God deliver him into his hand; then I will appoint thee a place whither he shall flee.

15 And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.
16 And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.
17 And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death.
18 And if men strive together, and one smite another with a stone, or with his fist, and he die not, but keepeth his bed:
19 If he rise again, and walk abroad upon his staff, then shall he that smote him be quit: only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall cause him to be thoroughly healed.
20 And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished.
21 Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money.
22 If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman’s husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.
23 And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life,
24 Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
25 Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.
26 And if a man smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, that it perish; he shall let him go free for his eye’s sake.
27 And if he smite out his manservant’s tooth, or his maidservant’s tooth; he shall let him go free for his tooth’s sake.
28 If an ox gore a man or a woman, that they die: then the ox shall be surely stoned, and his flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox shall be quit.
29 But if the ox were wont to push with his horn in time past, and it hath been testified to his owner, and he hath not kept him in, but that he hath killed a man or a woman; the ox shall be stoned, and his owner also shall be put to death.
30 If there be laid on him a sum of money, then he shall give for the ransom of his life whatsoever is laid upon him.
31 Whether he have gored a son, or have gored a daughter, according to this judgment shall it be done unto him.
32 If the ox shall push a manservant or a maidservant; he shall give unto their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned.
33 And if a man shall open a pit, or if a man shall dig a pit, and not cover it, and an ox or an ass fall therein;
34 The owner of the pit shall make it good, and give money unto the owner of them; and the dead beast shall be his.
35 And if one man’s ox hurt another’s, that he die; then they shall sell the live ox, and divide the money of it; and the dead ox also they shall divide.
36 Or if it be known that the ox hath used to push in time past, and his owner hath not kept him in; he shall surely pay ox for ox; and the dead shall be his own.
Exodus 22 1 If a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep.
2 If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him.
3 If the sun be risen upon him, there shall be blood shed for him; for he should make full restitution; if he have nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.
4 If the theft be certainly found in his hand alive, whether it be ox, or ass, or sheep; he shall restore double.
5 If a man shall cause a field or vineyard to be eaten, and shall put in his beast, and shall feed in another man’s field; of the best of his own field, and of the best of his own vineyard, shall he make restitution.
6 If fire break out, and catch in thorns, so that the stacks of corn, or the standing corn, or the field, be consumed therewith; he that kindled the fire shall surely make restitution.
7 If a man shall deliver unto his neighbour money or stuff to keep, and it be stolen out of the man’s house; if the thief be found, let him pay double.
8 If the thief be not found, then the master of the house shall be brought unto the judges, to see whether he have put his hand unto his neighbour’s goods.

From my experiences when a God closes a door, the one He opens is always better than I could have ever imagined. More often than not, I am completely redirected, set on a path I never would have seen without divine intervention. I recall desperately needing a job at one point in my life. I applied to a prison close to my neighborhood and was told at the end of the interview, “They would be in contact with a start date.” I came home and celebrated with my husband. I waiting anxiously for the call. The next week I received a letter in the mail stating I was not chosen for employment. I was divested and confused as to why the change in decision. Not long after the let down I received a call from the employer that directed me into the career I am in today.
I was told a short time later that the prison offered mandatory 12 hour shifts with additional hours when the next shift didn’t show. Holidays were always worked in rotation and benefits were lacking. I believe God felt the need to redirect me. For more reasons than one, and probably many I can’t even see, I was not meant to work at a prison. I am blessed to have the career I have now and know God has had his hand in many aspects of my life. I strive to live a Christ centered lifestyle and ask His blessing in every direction I take. I know after all, that if God doesn’t have his hand in it, it will never prosper. Without His blessings, nothing succeeds. If it does, I don’t want it. Do you have a time when God redirected you?
