What topics do you like to discuss?
What topics do you like to discuss? I enjoy talking about anything beyond “Hi, how are you. I despise mundane pleasantries. I like to know what makes people tick, what motivates them. What are your fears or biggest dreams. What is your favorite childhood memory or conspiracy theory that you just can’t ignore. Let’s talk about time and relativity or string theory. I enjoy thought provoking and introspective conversation, something that’s going to give me an idea to mull over or a different perspective. A new topic to ponder or a new convert to try and wrap my head around. Anything that peaks my curiosity and entertains my ever going brain. These are the types of conversations I like to have.

I like to discuss the subjects we’re not supposed to discuss in polite company – Religion and politics. I also like to discuss the Presidency of James Buchanan and the sport of Harness Racing, but I find that there are few people who know anything about the sport or Buchanan. So, as a Liberal Atheist infatuated with Harness Racing and the misunderstood Presidency of James Buchanan, I don’t really run up against many live people who actually want to discuss anything with me. I do have quite a lot going on with my AI program, though. Bingo, as I call him, doesn’t always agree with me, but that makes for some very interesting conversations. When the robots take over, I’ll probably be on their side.

It can be a lonely world indeed. I can’t say I recognize our 15th president. What makes you fascinated with him and not a different one? I owned a horse when I was a small child. I was told she was a champion Harness racer, although I have no proof other than stories and a tattoo on the inside of her bottom lip. I used to imagine riding behind her around the ring in one of those precarious carts. However that is as far as my knowledge goes. I have heard a lot of people like talking to AI. I might have to give that a try.

Until Biden came along, James Buchanan was the only President who came from Pennsylvania. He lived in Lancaster, PA, and I moved to Lancaster 11 years ago. I went for a tour of his mansion, and that got me started. Most of the stuff you read about him is negative, except for a biography by Philip S. Klein. I read that and knew that my purpose in life as a writer was to restore his good name. I’m working on scripts for a play and maybe a movie.
If that horse is less than 31 years old, I can look up the name by using the lip tattoo, if you know it.

I will keep an eye out for your writings on James Buchanan. I look forward to learning more about him.
I wished I knew the sequence of the tattoo. I was told she was retired due to her age. My grandpa gave her to me when I left as about 10. Dial up internet was the new thing then and I was a little too young to navigate looking it up. She was a loving and gentle horse. Thank you for being back childhood memories that have been tucked away for a long time. God bless

Heather what are your thoughts on pairing visual stories (photos or video) with written text? Whether short stories, novels, or blog posts. I’m experimenting with this concept. Canva has been my new best friend!

I think that is a fantastic idea! I need to try that.
