Noah

Noah: Name meaning comforter and rest.

Noah was the tenth of the pre-flood patriarchs. His father was Lamech and grandfather was Methuselah, the longest living person in written history. Noah was born 1046 years after Adam had his first son. He had three sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, he also had a wife, but her name is not written.

In those days the world was corrupt and evil but Noah found favor in the sight of the Lord. God gave him the spectacular task of building the Ark. He was 600 years old when he began to build and continued for 100 years. While he was building he was preaching the gospel and warning people of the coming flood. The herculean task was largely tackled solely by Noah and his family. God gave him the precise dimensions and toid Noah exactly how the Ark was to be built. Noah followed His instruction to the letter.

There is no record of additional people helping to build the Ark so it is widely accepted that Noah and his family worked alone. Nor do we know if he had an occupation outside of building the Ark. It is speculated that God could have possibly provided food and necessities to Noah’s family during construction. Despite what is usually taught Noah brought aboard 2 of every flesh, this includes human races as well, along with seven of those that were clean to eat. Noah, his wife to his sons, and all of his son’s wives were the eight Adamic souls but they were other humans on the Ark with them. Genesis 7 clearly states as much.

God chose Noah because he and his family had not mated with the Nephilim, allowing his seed line to remain pure.(Genesis 6:9). God needed to destroy the evil on earth, especially those born of the fallen  angels. From Noah we can follow umbilical cord to the umbilical cord, ending with Jesus Christ our savior.

After the flood the Ark landed on mount Ararat and God made a promise to Noah in Genesis 9:11. God set a rainbow in the sky as a sign of that covenant. Noah Planted a vineyard after the water receded and built a new encampment. He lived 350 years after the flood making for a total of 950 years at death.
