Bitter Sweet

Bitter Sweet

I stare the blank sheet
wondering how freely to speak.

What can be liberating and free
can also be bitter sweet.
In the space where my thoughts and reality meet.

Do I put it all in black and white
or keep it hidden from the light?

Once it is written on paper
it became like a wager

Solidifying the words like stone
careful or they will be thrown.
The intended purpose never to be known.

Always walking the tightrope
Always hanging onto a thread of hope.

I stare the blank sheet
Wondering how freely to speak.

What can be liberating and free
can also be bitter sweet.
In the space where my thoughts and reality meet.

A battle ground of thoughts and feelings
Some are mine, others make believe.

Interpret, analyze and relate,
Whip a story right into shape.

My experiences go far beyond my years
Because I have very good listening ears.
